Before the second world war people tended to buy things, look after them and keep them for ages. The nicest things were often used purely for display. It is relatively easy to find items from this period in excellent condition. Post war, items were used, abused and junked. Finding items in good condition from this part of history is much more difficult, but the search can be rewarding. Happy hunting. Whatever items you choose to collect, when you've found them, be sure to take photographs of them so they can be traced should some miscreant deprive you of them. They are highly desirable. |
